Fritzy's Roller Skate Shop Outdoor Skate Rentals Terms and Conditions
Reservation Policy
All reservations for Fritzy's Roller Skate Shop outdoor skate rentals (both inline and quad skates) are final and will be honored regardless of weather conditions (rain or shine). No refunds will be provided due to inclement weather. However, if a cancellation is initiated by Fritzy's—such as due to unavailability of skates or other unforeseen circumstances—a full refund will be provided.
Deposit Requirement
A $50 credit card deposit is required for each skate rental at the time of checkout. The deposit will be fully refunded when the skates are returned within the designated rental period and during our open Shop Hours, provided the skates show no damage beyond normal wear and tear. If the skates are damaged or lost, the deposit will be forfeited, and additional costs for repair or replacement will apply.
Skate Condition and Return
Roller skates/blades are rented out clean and in proper working condition and must be returned in the same manner. Skates are maintained on a daily basis. It is the responsibility of the renter to inspect the skates at the shop before setting out on any skate adventure. If the skates are returned damaged or excessively dirty, additional charges for repair, maintenance, or cleaning may be incurred. Clean condition means normal wear and tear is accepted but does not include broken trucks, plates, bearings, wheels, or boot rips/tears.
No Rain Checks
Fritzy's Roller Skate Shop does not offer rain checks. All rentals are final, and no adjustments will be made for weather conditions.
Waiver Requirement
All renters must sign a waiver prior to renting skates. The waiver can be signed online here: Fritzy's Skate Rentals Waiver. By signing the waiver, you acknowledge that you are renting and using the skates at your own risk. Fritzy's Roller Skate Shop is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or accidents that may occur while using the rented skates.
Gear and Helmets
Helmets and other protective gear are available to rent or purchase at Fritzy’s Roller Skate Shop. It is strongly recommended that all participants wear a helmet and protective gear while skating for safety.
Rental Availability
Outdoor skate rentals are available at Pacific Beach, from Tuesday to Sunday. We offer rentals in 2-hour, half-day, full-day, and weekly increments. A valid ID, credit card, and $50 deposit are required for all rentals.
Late Returns
Hourly rentals are subject to a 2-hour minimum charge, and rental time begins once the deposit is submitted. After 2 hours, rental charges are calculated in half-day increments, with a 10-minute grace period. Late returns will incur a $25 late fee, along with additional half-day rental charges. Late fees will accrue for up to 3 days. Items not returned within 3 days will be charged the full replacement cost.
Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Equipment
In the event that rental skates, blades, or gear are lost, stolen, or damaged, customers will be responsible for reimbursing Fritzy's Roller Skate Shop for the full replacement or repair costs.
- Minimum charge for lost skates/blades: $179
- Helmet replacement: $60
- Additional equipment costs may apply.
Customer agrees to return all rental equipment in undamaged condition. Broken trucks, plates, bearings, wheels, or boot tears will incur repair costs based on shop rates. Damage or excessive wear will be assessed, and the customer is responsible for the cost of any repairs or replacements.
Security Deposit and Payment Authorization
By providing credit card details, the customer authorizes Fritzy's Roller Skate Shop to charge the card for any damages or costs incurred during the rental period, including labor for repairs. In case of theft, the customer will be responsible for reimbursing the shop for the original price of the roller skates/blades and any additional gear provided. Deposits on credit cards will be refunded based on the policies of the customer's financial institution.
Responsibility for Equipment Return
Customers are responsible for the timely return of rental equipment. Fritzy’s Roller Skate Shop does not offer pickup or rescue services. All rentals must be returned during shop hours.
