Let's go!
New Skaters
Starting a new sport or activity can be daunting, but the good news is, skating is a pretty easy one to get rolling with!
Learning just a little about the skates and gear that will get you rolling will help make the process easy.

Skate Set Up
Most roller skates come factory assembled so that just a few quick skate checks will get you rolling!
Wheels - Always check to make sure they roll and the axle nut is tight, but not too tight, you dont want to dent the shields of your bearings!
Toe Stops - Whether you have a bolt on or screw on toe stop ALWAYS check (EVERY TIME YOU SKATE) to make sure it is tight, these tend to come loose more than any other item.
Boots - Makes sure you evenly lace up your skates, if buying high tops, it isn't required to lace them to the top, just tie to where they are comfortable!
Plate - You really shouldnt have to do much out of the gate, just make sure nothing is making noise (its called the shake test) and that your trucks are relatively tight.
Cushions - We recommend leaving the cushions as they are (as long as they seem tight in the plate set up) and letting your body weight and skating break them in. Once you have skated a while and gotten to know your skates, then upgrading cushions may be a good idea.
